Brief Bio on Joe:

After graduating from Georgetown University with a major in International Economics, Broken Arrow native Joe Newhouse became a jet pilot in the US Navy and married Laura, his college sweetheart. Assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, then LT Newhouse flew multiple combat missions in the EA-6B Prowler during the Iraq War providing aerial coverage to Marine convoys over Fallujah and Baghdad, ultimately earning the Air Medal.

After the War he was transferred to Pensacola to teach fighter tactics at Navy flight school, where he was later named Instructor Pilot of the Year and promoted to Lieutenant Commander. He qualified as Expert in both rifle and pistol and tested fluent in 2 foreign languages. Upon completion of service, Joe and Laura returned to Tulsa to raise their 4 children and became active members at their church, RiverOaks Presbyterian.

Joe graduated #1 in his masters program at Chapman University (Los Angeles, CA) and has earned certification as a PMP® (Project Management Professional) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Joe served as a Field Representative for Rep. Jim Bridenstine for 3 years and was a member of the Governor’s task force to bring the F-35 to Tulsa as well as a board member for Coffee Bunker, a Veteran service organization. He is a Realtor Broker and runs his own business. He continues to serve part-time in the Navy Reserve as a military advisor to NATO and was recently promoted to Commander, making him one of the Navy’s youngest Commanders at only 38 years old. As a Republican candidate for Oklahoma State Senate District 25, Joe is eager to use his broad and extensive background to bring meaningful and energetic, Conservative leadership to the Oklahoma capitol.
